A do nothing day…

I’m retired and so am allowed to do nothing once in a while. 🙂  I woke up to the sound of raindrops so decided it wasn’t a good day for a walk.  I spent a bunch of time online instead, researching online earning opportunities.  I got so engrossed in what I was doing, I lost track of time until I got a call from Giselle.  I forgot our morning call…

I found out last night that yellow dragon fruit (pitahaya) is also a bit of a laxative…..great for me right now because of the extreme change in diet from home (no more McDonalds cheeseburgers or egg McMuffins).  I won’t divulge anymore details, suffice to say that it worked for me.  It is the white fruit with all the black seeds in it…  It is actually quite tasty, but just don’t eat too much all at once.  Ask me how I know.. 😉

Today is International Women’s Day.  It was celebrated here this morning with a very large gathering of women in front of the church that ended with a police escorted parade through town.  They were chanting something in Spanish as they paraded in front of my apartment, but I forgot to take a video or pictures.

A short post today.  It is 2:00pm and I need to head up to the market to get some more fruit (no pitahaya) and water.  Tomorrow is market day for the gringos.  I will head over for some more of the delicious bread from Yanneck and another bag of organic coffee.  I met a local at the CooCoo’s Nest while having breakfast there the other day.  He sells sausages at the Thursday market so I might get some of that as well.
