Day two of our Moroccan adventure started with a beautiful sunrise and then a bus tour of the capital city of Morocco. Our first stop was the mausoleum of King Mohammed V and the Hassan Tower. It was constructed beginning in 1195, but was never completed.
After passing by the royal palace we visited the ancient ruins of Chellah. These ruins date back to the ancient Roman Empire and before.
Next on our day was a bus ride to the city of Fez. But first we got to meander through the lush, green Moroccan countryside with a visit to the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis. It is hard to imagine how these stone structures lasted through the test of time….
