La Playa Ropa

We awoke to the sounds of birds chirping with clear skies and sun on the patio.  The view from our room was fantastic.  We were advised that we would need to change our room that afternoon as we had added another day to our trip to take advantage of a less expensive flight home at the end.  It turned out to be on the same floor with a nicer view, without the palm tree in the middle.

We headed down to the beach and found a nice restaurant called Patys Marimar, right on the sand and settled in for our first breakfast.  The coffee was delicious!

After breakfast, we went back to our room and packed our bags for the move to the room that would be our home for the rest of our stay.  There are three rooms on the top floor of our villa that all enter onto a shared kitchen.  We got to meet our neighbours and had friendly chats with them all week over morning coffee.

Once we were again settled in, we took a walk down the beach intending to meet up with Dan and Rose at Rossy’s at the far end of the beach.  We went in for drinks and a snack.  The nachos were deliciously different than any we had had before.  Individual chips covered in black beans and cheese with a selection of hot sauces and salsa to dip them in.  The margaritas were huge and tasty!

After our snack and a few margaritas later, Dan caught up with us and we followed him to his place where we gathered with friends for a feed of sailfish that Dan caught the week before.  The food was plentiful and delicious!

What a nice ending to our first full day on Playa La Ropa, Zihuatanejo, Mexico.
